Caritas CR carries out its mission in Haiti, in cooperation with the Archdiocesan Caritas Olomouc.
Diocesan Caritas Plzeň helps In South America, specifically in Bolivia, Paraguay and Peru; mainly through an adoption programme.
New latrines in Haitian schools
Since the beginning of 2012, Caritas Czech Republic has distributed new latrines, washrooms and water tanks to three schools in the area of Duval in the East Port-au-Prince. Directors of all donated institutions are very grateful, because they believe it will greatly improve the hygienic conditions the schools and the orphanages.
Livelihood restoration in earthquake-affected areas, Haiti
Restoring the livelihoods of the Haitian population affected by the earthquake that struck the country in 2010 is one the fundamental prerequisites for fighting against poverty and securing a dignified life for the Haitian people.

The project aims to restore schooling and promote education in the inaccessible border area of Port-au-Prince.
Emergency Response after the earthquake in Haiti
After the earthquake struck Haiti on January 12th 2010, Caritas Czech Republic (CCR) and Archdiocesan Caritas Olomouc (ACO) immediately sent two employees to the most affected areas. CCR also sent immediate financial help in the amount of 100 000 USD which was given primarily to provide temporary accommodation, the building of sanitary facilities (latrines, bathrooms, water reservoirs), to distribute food and hot meals and to clean up rubble and debris.
