Cambodian girl, Channy, could see for the first time a few weeks ago
Neang Channy lives with her grandfather and grows up with help from aunts and uncles in a small village in Takeo province. After the examination, provided by Caritas Czech Republic, doctors have discovered a defect in her eyes that meant she could see only light and darkness or outlines in the fog. Thanks very thick glasses, she can see the details now, including the facial features of her loved ones. Channy can go to school, play with her friends and help her family with domestic activities.
Humanitarian aid for the rural communities in Somaliland
Somalia has been described as a collapsed state since 1990. The country is affected by long-standing internal armed conflict and is balancing on the edge of collapse. Dysfunctional state structures, political instability, climate change, prolonged drought and lack of investment in agriculture have lead in some parts of the country to a humanitarian disaster, leaving thousands of people dependent on foreign aid.
